If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?
I have a lot of pets, so narrowing this down is a tough one.
The current roster is 4 birds, 3 cats, a dog, a tortoise, and a bearded dragon. But today’s post concerns 1 cat. A 15 lb ball of testing the spare human’s patience. A cat called Sarge.
I became Sarge’s property after he spent 6 months in a shelter when nobody wanted him because he requires daily eyedrops, which, I guess, is too much commitment for some people? Whatevs.
If he doesn’t get his eyedrops, his eyes get all crusty and goopy, á la Homer Simpson. And if his eyes get crusty and goopy, he gets very cranky. However, every SINGLE day, he feels the deep and abiding need to fight me when I give him his eyedrops.
So what I wish he understood is that I am not daily manhandling his face and dripping liquid in his eyes for my own amusement, and it would behoove him to settle the F down and just roll with it for the benefit of us all.
