Are you patriotic? What does being patriotic mean to you?
God, these prompts are just not hitting for me this week.
No, I would not say I’m a patriotic Canadian. I was super proud of being Canadian and loved my country until maybe 15 or 20 years ago? But while my personal beliefs have changed very little throughout my life, the values of Canada as a country seem to have swung much more to the decidedly shallow and selfish end of things over the spirit of community I felt in my younger days. And I am not about that.
Honestly, if I found a good American man with similar values to my own to marry, I’d hop the border tomorrow. Actually, America, if you could hurry up and legalize poly marriage so I could snag 2 of them, that would be even better. Thx.
