I. Hate. Dealing. With. Finances.
I am fully capable of budgeting, and I do, but dealing with it is quite literally the biggest stressor in my life. It outweighs dealing with a painful lifelong disability. It regularly brings me to tears. I would honestly rather have someone take all my money, pay my bills, and rip me off for the rest of it than have to worry about managing it myself.
That being said, my budgeting is pretty simple because I’d rather not give myself a stress coronary.
- 10% to savings
- 10% tithe (currently going into savings until I can find a church in line with my beliefs. It’s more difficult than one would hope.)
- Bills, car payment, groceries (I can’t really budget around these because they are what they are. I do meal plan and am a no-luxury-foods-but-no-walmart-great-value level grocery shopper, though.)
- The rest usually goes towards animal food, squishmallows, Starbucks tumblers, and the “hey mom, can I borrow $100 until payday even though we both know you’ll never see a dime of it again” fund
