Ominous Velour

I got these shoes as a treat for myself to wear while attending my very first PAX Prime (NOT West. Prime.) in 2010.

Because I was still primarily walking at the time, my feet destroyed shoes like they were me at a cheesecake bar. So all my shoes were very cheap, very bland, and very falling apart. And, knowing that I did not want to have to try and navigate my first con solo AND with my chair, I decided that splurging on the comfiest shoes I could find was definitely in order.

These babies saw me through all 4 PAXen that I ended up attending before I moved too far from the PNW to get there, and another 10 years after that and are still going strong since I rarely do any significant walking and am mostly in my chair these days. But I still love them as much as I ever did.
