Ominous Velour

Taffeta, satin, and most ominous of all, velour.

Come with me, and you’ll be, in a world of pure procrastination…

What activities do you lose yourself in?

Honestly, I can get lost in just about any repetitive, methodical task so long as I have music to listen to.

My two most common ones, as frequently mentioned throughout the width and breadth of this blog, are knitting (or crocheting) and reading.

I have literally lost entire 10-hour road trips to a good book. Like, the kind of lost where you wonder why we’re stopping for snacks so soon after departing, only to find you’re already at your destination.

Or the kind of lost where you feel like you’ve only done 3 or 4 6-row pattern repeats, but suddenly your scarf is 8′ long with no logical explanation.

I will also, occasionally settle in for 2 or 3 episodes of a new anime and find myself magically transported to the end of the series. But that is more rare because, whether subbed or dubbed, I need to actively listen to the audio and read the captions. Yay for the AD4K.

An enthusiastic “bless your heart” to AI for somehow being even less capable of accurately depicting the act of knitting than even the least dedicated Hollywood actor.
